F1Outdoors 125 Endurance Race

Oct 7,  2010

Another year has passed and at the end of the month we have the F1 Outdoors 125 lap Endurance Race. The Ironman Triathlon people told us that we cannot use the term Ironman to describe our race, oh well.

Who is going to knock off last year’s champion Alex Gamache, I believe that she will be back to defend her title!!

The details:

2 Classes, the Endurance competitors and the Sportsman competitors.

Endurance competitors

1. Endurance competitors are the racers that generally own their karts or they could rent one from us. The object is to be the first person to reach 125 laps. One driver, one set of tires.

2. Coming off the track at the end of the race you will have to make your class weight.

3. All classes run together, they compete for class Champions as well as the overall champion, similar to endurance racing in Grand-Am or ALMS.

4. During yellow flags, pace kart will be employed, while disabled karts are removed from the track. The pace kart will pick up the overall leader and bunch up the field.

5. The start will be like last year, draw a numbered poker chip and that is your starting position. Standing start with the karts lined up diagonally along the front straight

6. This race is open to Rotax’s, PRD’s, Leopards. Sorry no shifters, Micro Max or Mini Max

Sportsman Class

1. This class will consist of competitors that will have more than one driver per kart. Generally these karts will be rented from us or another kart shop.

2. The drivers will determine how long there “stint” will be.

3. They will run the same format as the Endurance Class, no tire changes,

4. This class will have to use a weight system similar to that used at for the endurance races that are held at F1 Boston. Pre race equlized weight.

The Race will take place on Sunday October 31st. You will be home well before Holloween festivities!

The race fee is $150.00 plus a pit pass

Kart Rental is $700.00, this includes fuel for the kart but it does not include entry fee or pit pass.

For Sportsman class competitiors, the kart rental is for the team. As is the entry fee. All team members will have to purchase their own pit passes. Helmets and drivers suits are available if needed.

Lastly, just to stir the pot……..Alex (last years overall winner) SHE is a very petit 15 year old young female driver that beat all those big burly men last year.

RSVP to me either by phone or preferably by email. If you have any questions give Dave or myself a call.

Thanks,

Mark Ouimet
