Welcome to CRG America
A lot has gone on since the last newsletter. The first educational seminar which drew more than 30 people. The first Rmax Regional race at OVRP, where we all braved the wind, the rain and the nearly freezing temperatures. Finally the WKA Manufacturers Cup Race at Michiana Raceway Park.
The opening race at F1 Outdoors is in a couple of weeks and the season is well underway at F1 New Jersey. I love this time of the year, everyone is excited about being in the kart and are ready to race!

CRG America Educational Series
Last month the focus was on the front end of the kart. Tom, Dave, and Jeremiah went through alignments using the Sniper Alignment tools. Dave even went old school and pulled out the alignment discs for a little nostalgia. The 30 plus attendees had all the one on one and classroom attention that they could handle.
So what is next? Dellorto Carburators. We all thought the front end of a kart is puzzeling, but how does the fuel get through the carburator, mix with air and get into the cylinder?
Let our technicians explain it all to you. Jets, floats, idle jets, clip position will all be discussed. So mark your calender for June 18th 2011 at 11 am at the CRG America Shop at 145 Wood Rd in Braintree.
Those of us that are a little older, don't forget your bifocals!

N.E. Rotax and Shifter Kart Series
Once again CRG chassis's dominate the season opener at Oakland Valley Race Park in Cuddebackville, New York. The weekend proved to be a true test of drivers and tuners, mother nature decided to throw a curve ball on Saturday, rain, cold temperatures, and high winds made for terrible conditions. In the Shifter Kart race, CRG America's Alex Manglass driving a Maxter powered CRG Road Rebel earned the second step on the podium and taking home an extra $30.00 for his efforts. Elliott Mignot also driving a CRG/Maxter package came home in 6th.
On Saturday, CRG chassis's proved to be the chassis to be on in the inclement weather. Gavin Reichelt's proved to be the standard bearer in Rotax Junior taking wins in both the prefinal and final. Christian Sarnecki's two second place finishes in Mini Max were terrific finishes for his first ever RMAX race, in wet conditions. Rotax Senior saw Nick Rivellini take a feature win on board his CRG Road Rebel. Carter Fartuch finished 4th on his CRG Blackstar, and Trent Hindman's run from last place to a 5th on his CRG KT1 rounded out the top 5. 2010 DD2 National Points Champion Kristina Vorndran topped the charts in DD2 on her CRG Dark Rider.
Sunday brought a much different day, sunny but a little cool, although there was a stiff breeze. That breeze was much needed to dry the track from the previous days monsoons. CRG's proved to be the karts to be on this day as well. In qualifying, Rotax SR Carter Fartuch put his CRG on the pole with Trent Hindman in 4th. The Rotax Sr feature race was an all CRG affair, Carter took the #1 step on the podium and Trent took up the #2 step. Nick Rivellini had the best run from back in the back to a 4th place finish, another lap or two it would have been a podium sweep for CRG.
Mini Max driver Christian Sarnecki backed up his Saturday performance with another pair of second place finishes on Sunday. Rounding out the Mini Max podium was Hunter Bogar in 3rd as he repeated his finishes from Saturday as well.
In the highly competitive junior class, Gavin Reichelt proved that you can not keep him down. Having to start the pre final in last place due to tire issues, Gavin marched forward securing a solid top ten starting position for the Rotax Jr feature race. During the feature, Gavin had a terrific start, moving forward he set his sights on first place, until he came together with another competitor, the result was that Gavin was now in 12th place. Confident in his CRG, Gavin continued the hunt for 1st place. As the saying goes, "close but no cigar", Gavins efforts resulted in a 3rd place finish, an impressive run from the back.
All in all more great performances by CRG drivers and their tuners!
The next Rotax Regional race will be at New Jersey Motorsports Park on May 20-22nd.

WKA Manufacturers Cup at MRP
CRG America earns first WKA Manufacturers Cup victory for 2011, with a double podium in TAG 2!
CRG America driver and New Jersey Motorsports Park track pro Arie Ouimet put together all that was needed for his first victory of the 2011 Manufacturers Cup season. Sunday's dominating performance in qualifying and both the Pre Final and 2 second victory in the TAG 2 final is testament to the CRG Blackstar chassis and the Joe White Racing prepared Parilla Leopard. Providing Arie with technical and mechanical assistance was CRG America technician Jeremiah Damon.
One of 3 females from the CRG America Team Kristina Vorndran, in her first ever Man Cup Race weekend, joined Arie on the podium with a 5 place finish aboard her CRG Blackstar with a P1 Racing Engines Parilla Leopard. Joining Kristina as a WKA newcomer was Thomas Appleton. Thomas, from North Andover MA, was very pleased with his 14th place finish in TAG 2. Hovering around 10th place for most of the race, a slight mistake allowed a couple of karts to slip by his CRG Blackstar. Both Kristina and Thomas hope to make the next Man Cup Race at the CRG America National at Beaverun Motorsports park.
Saturday did not have quite the result as Sunday for the CRG America squad. In TAG 1 qualifying, the best was Arie in 19th with both Kristina and Thomas close behind. Nick Revillini proved to be the bright spot with his 6th place starting spot. All the CRG drivers made it through the Prefinal with no damage to their karts, which in a class of 30 drivers is no small feat . When TAG 1 finished for the day Ouimet and Revillini were the only ones to have top 10 finishes in TAG 1.
Saturday also saw CRG Driver Anthony Gangi Jr have a 7th place finish aboard his CRG Big Al.
In the Parilla Leopard class started better tan TAG 1, with Ouimet qualifying p2 for the prefinal. But that did not last for long. 3 laps into the pre final Arie spun his CRG coming out of turn 5, that, along with an re-entry penalty forced Arie to start the feature from the back of the field. Both Kristina and Thomas improved in the prefinal from their qualifying positions. The Leopard final proved to be a very good race for all three of the CRG America drivers. Kristina got her first top ten finish, 9th place with Arie right behind her in 10th. Thomas also secured his first top 15 finish.
Next up will be the CRG America Nationals at Beaverun Motorsports Park in Wampum PA.
