Kristina Vorndran Podiums at Rotax Pan Am races
May 31, 2011
Kristina is getting pretty comfortable with podiums at Michiana Raceway Park, the 16 year old from Charlton MA scored 2 more podiums in the Rotax Pan American Challenge.
Saturday, Kristina saw center podium after tackling very difficult conditions. As soon as the DD2 class left the hot pit for its final it started to rain. The race director did not call the field back to the pits and ran the feature race in wet conditions on slicks. This made for some very interesting driving.
On Sunday, the track was dry, it was a great day for a go kart race. Kristina was fast all day, taking the pole position, winning the prefinal and started on the pole for the feature. Thinking that the track was going to take on more rubber adustment s were made to the kart to accomodate such conditions. But sometimes the best plans do not come to pass, the track stayed the same! Resulting in a kart that was to loose. Bad for Kristina, good for her competition and good for the spectators. This made for a very exciting race, lots of passing but in the end Kristina ended up P2 by less than 2 tenths of a second!
All in all a great weekend for Kristina!!
